How did you tell your parents (and in laws and relatives and friends) you were pregnant? Any really creative people out there? (I'll hoard some ideas for the next one, lol.)
We sent a "sweet pea" photo album to my mom. I mailed it right after we found out and she is notoriously bad about checking her mail (it's at the post office.) I kept calling and chatting and trying to casually ask if she'd gotten the mail that day and nothing. It was hard to talk to her otherwise when that was SO important to me and new and exciting and she wouldn't check her mail!! Finally she did in the morning (she said, after 4 days of this, she got suspicious) and found the package and just threw it on her seat and went to work. Then she got suspicious of a package and why I kept asking so finally opened it -- I was out in Belleview reporting that morning and checked my voice mail in the office and she'd left a message saying I think we need to talk.

Anyway, not very creative -- so I'd love to hear some cute ideas! I remember watching Full House as a kid and they had the baby everything meal as a clue for Jesse (right? forget the names but I can picture the scene) -- baby back ribs, baby corn, etc....

Nothing too special here. I just walked in the house and they could tell something was wrong with me. Cause, first of all, I was late coming in from work and secondly the look on my face gave it away. So I just came right out and told them I was pregnant. Course, lots of questions followed and then my Mom cried. Then I remember my Mom joking that Summer would be born on her birthday and Mom was right.

So it was nothing spectacular as far as the announcement went. SInce there will be no more kids for me I don't think I'll be maiking any more surprise announcements.

No funny fabulous announcements here, either. Just phone calls and lots of smiles on the other end of the line. Smiler I do hope that one day I will be able to call and say, "it's a girl!" Now, that would be surprising since there are ALL boys in this family. Smiler

We had our son call my parents and ask my mom if she could come stay with us. She didn't quite get what he was saying, so I told her he had someone special coming to stay with us around the first of May, and we wondered if she could help out and plan to be here for about 2 weeks. She sounded very perplexed (I think she didn't expect us to have a second baby)so then I explained Scott's special friend was his new little brother or sister and my dad immediately jumped in and said, "Yes, she can come, no problem!" The my mom got really excited and was laughing (and crying, I think!) and it was one of the most fun phone calls I've ever made.
