DelCharco, DelCharco, DelCharco. No other answers. The entire experience at this Dr.'s office is wonderful. Personally, two perfect deliveries, fast recovery, just pleasant all around! I am finished having babies, and have kept DelCharco's office for gyn. Get a appt. for a screening.

Unfortunately I am with Dr. Sandra Murphy. I wouldn't recommend her to anybody. She is very rude and doesn't seem to really care about anything but money coming in.
When I ask her a question, she doesn't listen.. even interrupts me in the middle to talk to the nurse.
She told me to read a pregnancy book so I wouldn't bother her with my concerns.
Well I read the book but I still had questions.. her response was laughing.
I am too far into my pregnancy to change doctors, but she still won't be the one to deliver my baby.. when it's time I will request whoever the doctor on call is.. They can't do a worse job than Sandra Murphy.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Dr Philip Johnson!!! He is the best. I had him with both my kids and he was just awesome. Even several years ago there was an article in the paper about him being the best bed side mannered doctor. I have recommended several friends to him and they just adore him as well.

The only thing I didn't like is he knew I would go into labor early with my son as I went early with my daughter as well. He looked at me and my last check up and told me don't go into labor early as Dr Sandra Murphy will be doing deliveries while I'm on vacation (December, Christmas vacation) Well I did go early. My son came Christmas Day and she delivered my son. I was not pleased with her whole attitude while there. I was not dilating like I should (like first prego) and she says to the nurse give her the drip and I don't want to be here all night for Christmas. As I got there at 10pm Christmas Eve and then had my don at 1:15 am Christmas Day. So I highly RECOMMENDED DR JOHNSON. I see him still today for my gyn Smiler

I am at 7 mos. and still unsure about DR MARQUETTE. I have seen him twice my whole pregnancy for about 3 minutes each time. The office staff is 'okay', they are not exceptionally friendly, they do their job I guess. Tesha is very sweet. I guess she is the practitioner? I have seen her a few times.

I agree 100% - I went to Sandra Murphy 1 time and never again. Rude, inconsiderate, uncaring are just a few words I use to describe her.

Dr. Delcharco's office is horrible! The staff is not friendly.... the wait times are horrible. I've never left there without waiting atleast 1hr 30 mins. Never return calls when you need something. Most importantly... You never see the Dr!! If your okay with seeing the nurse practitioner that will not be deilivering your baby then go for it. Or you can opt to see the midwife. However, don't go there if you want to see the Dr. it wont happen.

I can not speak from a women's point of view, but from the father's view Doctor Johnson is the best. He makes you feel at home, he takes the time to get to know you, and he wants you to feel like its ok to have questions. He delivered both of our girls and if we have a third he will deliver that one as well. I can not say enough about him and his staff. Overall there was nothing that I did not like about his office. If there was a star rating system he would be 5 stars!!!

Delcharco delivered my first two babies. Unfortunately he's taken on too many patients in recent years.
He only saw me the day before my csection because I requested it to ask him some questions. A week after the section I went in for the regular delivery check up. I told him the section site was raised and itchy. He said it was just healing. Well, the next day my section opened back up. I called the office, they said to come in immediately. They ran a lab test and it came back with staph infection. I was on 2 weeks worth of antibiotics and wound care.
Earlier this year I had a miscarriage. I went in to be checked to make sure. THe nurse came in my room and said "SO you're pregnant!" (all excited). I told her no that I thought I miscarried over the weekend. SO she sent me for an ultrasound thinking maybe I'd had twins and one was still alive. After quite some time with the ultrasound tech, I finally said "Is there a baby in there?". She replied "I can't really discuss it with you but I'll get the nurse/midwife back in here". Well, she couldn't get the nurse/midwife back because she was with another patient. So they sent me home and said they'd call.
On my way home the front desk appt girl calls my cell. I thought she was calling with news about the ultrasound. Instead she says "You were scheduled for a prenatal appt today and you never showed. We really need to get you in here to start paperwork on this pregnancy". I explained that I'd just left the office after 2 hours of exam and ultrasound. She was very apologetic but it was too little too late.
After delivering 2 of my children, I would've thought Dr Delcharco would have called me himself or at least had his office manager call just to say sorry about the confusion or condolences on the miscarraige.

Anyway, I'm pregnant with my 3rd and I"ve switched Dr's.

I don't understand the point of people seeing an ARNP who is not helping catch babies. Confused Confused
Boogsoup -- that is horrible. That is not what you want w/ a miscarriage, either, where you should be shown some basic compassion. Frowner
You weren't a teacher, were you? I heard some stories of a teacher who had their daughter around the same time I had Jodi. She had some infection on her incision site and problems w/ it opening, etc... that lasted for weeks.

Wow boogsoup, what an experience! What doctor did you switch to? With my first (and only) I went to Dr. Hunt. He delivered me 26 years ago so I figured he must be doing something right to be around so long. I saw him at my first appointment and thought he was very old-school so i scheduled my next with his mid-wife, Hillary Morgan. She was awesome! I always came to my appointments with a stack of yellow post-it notes that I had collected questions since my last appointment. She would stay as long as it took to make sure I understood. I also requested her to deliver me and she did.

NEVER, NEVER SEE DR. MARQUETTE I had him with my second child and he was a nightmare. I had 3 ultrasounds when I was pregnant and everytime Dr. Marquette said everything looked fine. Fast forward to my baby being 7 months old and I find out she was born with only one kidney. We only found that out because we have the best ped. I wanted to know why Dr. Marquette never found this out so I called his office for my records and they wanted to give me the run around. They still don't want to give me my ultrasound pictures. Dr. Marquette said he saw 2 kidneys but he won't show me the picture where he saw 2. I hate him. I thought he was nice during my pregnancy but then the delivery. He leaves a horrible c-section scar. He is too fast, in and out and doesn't care about you or the baby. Yes a child can live with only one kidney but we have trips to Shands, tests and we just have to be extra careful. There probably wouldn't have been anything Dr. Marquette could have done but I feel like it was his fault that I thought everything was ok and now it isn't. There is still something wrong with my child!!

I had Dr. Hall with my first and I liked him.

It's too bad that Mann, Murphy and Spencer no longer are together and they used to be the dynamic trio in OB deliveries in Ocala. One would admit you, the other deliver and one would discharge and ALL were great!!! Unfortunately, with malpractice costs they decided not to do anymore OB and are now, strictly GYN, although, Dr. Spencer may now be retired.
In their day, about 10 yrs ago, they were the best. They added Sandra Murphy to the practice, but she was horrible, so the comments I read on this site seem to fit and she just doesn't seem to change. Dr. Phil Johnson is nice and would now probably be the one I'd go to if I ever had another, but at my age, I've had enough and am very blessed! Good luck to all of you who are delivering soon!! I hope it will be a great experience and don't be afraid to get an epidural, it will make it the best experience of your life: No pain but such joy!!

There was a lady on another list I'm on who saw Marquette. She told him from the beginning she wanted a VBAC and he basically said he was OK w/ it. Fast forward to 4 weeks before her due date, he kept pressuring for a date to schedule an ERCS, she balked, and he fired her as a patient. He did eventually refer her to an OB at Shands (and the woman had a wonderful VBAC!)

What I do like at my CNM's group is that the docs aren't doing the ultrasounds -- real sonographers who are really experienced in them are doing them. There was a big difference w/ a sonographer vs the OB doing my first ultrasound when my midwife was w/ a different practice.
