I don't agree with the boycott personally. I think the driver of the truck was at fault. People should focus efforts on changing laws about talking on cell phones while driving rather than our bus system. I agree that the system needs to evaluate the bus stops that are considered dangerous but I don't think a boycott will help. Parents work and need to put their kids on a bus. I feel awful for their loss but think they are going after the wrong people. The truck driver was ultimately responsible but from what I understand, he's not where the money is.

I agree with you boogsoup. The school board has done all that they with what they have to work to make sure that the students are safe on the buses. I live in the part of town where the accident occured and it can be a dangerous road, but that part of the road is on a straight away and it was definately the truck dirvers fault. So yes, it is a horrible tragedy that a yound girl lost her life but they need to go after the truck driver and cell phone laws, not the county.

it sounds to me as mrs. schee is trying to change this so that this never happens to another family. it seems as everone is bitter about this, I personally don't believe that money is what she is after, she wants changes to the bus stops. Can we fault her for trying to protect other kids who ride the bus. Let's face it, drivers are more reckless & carless, using their cell phones eating, people now adays are under way more stress & ALOT of drivers are not focused on the road. believe me, i see it more & more, Yes cell phones should be banned, would that solve the problem? I don't think so, esp when our law enforcements use them all the time while driving. My husband works for a trucking co & they are not allowed to use their cell phone while driving AND THEY DON'T!!

I still think laws should be in place in our state to have drivers pull over to talk and text on the phone. It wasn't the stop that was the problem. It was the truck driver's failure to NOTICE a huge yellow bus with lights flashing while he was chatting on the phone. If that isn't the reason then it was faulty brakes he was SUPPOSED to have fixed earlier that night. I agree the bus stop could be moved but suing the school system and boycotting them while they are trying to complete the investigation doesn't seem to be the best route in my book.

There are lots of other issues concerning the money thing but we don't need to go into that on this post. I agree this is a grieving family that is trying to find solace somehow.
