Can you believe this idot just couldn't see a big YELLOW bus stopped in the road letting kids off. I feel so bad for the girl's family. I thought when you put your kids on the bus they would be safe, but I guess they arn't totally safe anywhere. Our prayers are with this family.

He was probably writing into his log book, texting or reaching down for something to eat. Through all this tragedy we need to remember what is important. The lives of our loved ones and not things, hold your children tight today and pray for the one that is no longer with us.

With a heavy heart for this community and their loved ones, We lift them up in prayer.
Maybe now the school board will find a safer solution to dropping of children in that area.

The truck driver was on his cell phone, I pretty much figured that as soon as I heard about the accident. I live near where the accident happened and it truly is a tragedy. I pray for the family and friends that lost their loved one and for a speedy recovery for those that were injured.
About moving the bus stop, there probably isn't anywhere better for it to be. It's a pretty rural area out here. People just need to be paying attention, there are signs posted warning of the bus stop, and for goodness sake it's a big yellow bus with flashing lights.

Cell phones and hands free phones just should be banned while driving. The engineer of the horrible train accident in CA was texting. A short time ago a young woman ran over 2 small children and killed them because she was on her cell phone in Orlando. She ran a red light.

I just read the latest article on Frances Shee, I still haven't stop crying, I just can't imagine what her family is going through. My daughter was in 8th grade band last year. She played the flute. My heart goes out to this family.

This is so, so, sad. I interviewed the Schees for an article on Margay's dad months ago and met her then. She was a sweet girl and my heart goes out to that family.

My prayers go out to the Schee family, I haven't stopped crying either. I have 5 children, and this is very devastating. Why doesn't the county take some action and make some changes with the way they construct the roads? All they would have to do is add an easement to these busy and dangerous roadways at all bus stops that would allow the bus driver to pull off the highway to load and unload our precious children. This isn't the first time a school bus has been rearended, and I'm sure it won't be the last. This would also be a good idea for mailboxes out on State Road 200, as there are rural mail carriers delivering out of thier personal vehicles who have to stop right in the roadway with a posted speed limit of 50 MPH, to deliver mail. Please, something must get done before there is more tradgedy.

Margay was in my very first class when I became a teacher. She was such a sweet girl then and stayed that way. I've kept in touch with her family a little over the years. My sorority adopted them at Christmas last year because Margay's dad was awaiting a heart transplant and bills had become horrendous for them.

There is a memorial service slated for Sunday at Jervy Gantt Park to recoginze the wonderful life she led.
