I found a great article on teeth brushing for toddlers.

How is teeth brushing in your house? We struggle in our house. What has been helpful for you? Do any of you use the flouride drops?

Plain toothbrush w/ water in bath or after. Try to in the morning but those 5 a.m. clinical days make it rough.

Oh, and note to self: do not let the kid walk around w/ the toothbrush all by herself again. Kids leave things around and then, well, little doggies come along and destroy things. We just braved Fay to go to the store to get a new toothbrush, among other things....

Hi All,
Here are a few more suggestions: Use the toddler toothpaste the kids love the flavor. Make a game out of it. I brush your teeth and you brush my teeth with my toothbrush. Ask your Ped Dr. to test your water for flouride. They can give you a RX for flouride if you need it. My son Steven likes the grape flavor tabs and not the flouride with vitamins too yucky!
Don't forget to limit sweets and no milk before bedtime unless you brush as milk has sugar and can decay teeth fast. I also use hand flossers the dinasaur flossers can be found at Target. The kids love them , the back molars can decay inbetween where they touch. Children need help brushing and flossing until about age 7 since they do not have the hand dexterity. Hope this helps

We use the toddler toothpaste and the kids love it. We are also supposed to use the flouride, but E has also hated it and it's always been a struggle. I will admit that the closer we've gotten to her 2nd bday, the less we've used it. I believe you can quit when they turn 2??? I guess we'll have to give flossing a go!

And...PS Elizabeth...we brushed in the bath tub last night and the kids thought it was so fun! SCORE!
