I am trying to start up a suport group for parents and kids with type one diabetes. My son was diagnosed in June and I had no one to turn to, and I do not want that to happen to any other parents or children. If there is anyone that can help me out or if you are one of this parents get in touch with me and lets suport each other .

I want to give this post a bump. I think this is a great idea and very much needed for parents in Marion and surrounding counties. There is not even a support group in Gainesville.
I hope that if anyone knows of parents with a child with this disease that they will direct them to this post. Original poster I hope you can put together a support group |

Hello, My name is Krissy and I have been trying to start a support group ever since my son was diagnosed 1-6-03. I have thrown a couple of support group meetings in the past with only a few should up. I am a volunteer with the Florida Camp for Children and Youth with Diabetes (FCCYD) if you have attend the camps there, then you have seen me sell my diabetes related items for the scholarhip fund for the past 3 years now.
I am will to help however I can. I have lots of contact with reps since I have spoken to some of them in great depth about possibly coming out to a meeting if I could get enough people to attend. You can email me at inthis2gether4jd@yahoo.com or check out my myspace that I just put up a couple of weeks ago at Link I am trying to spread awarness here in Marion County. I have lots of ideas and will be willing to share them. Until a Cure....We Are In This 2gether Hope to hear from you soon. |
