I interviewed every office in the area (well, except a recommended group in town that wouldn't let me do a prenatal interview..) picked one I really liked, didn't like the wait, got a rec for one in Gainesville, had some issues w/ some recs they had and left. We ended up at family practice w/ my doc and love it!! I was not sure about doing that but have not regretted it since we made the switch.
Word of Mouth...All my friends had kids before we did and they told us about their Peds. I'm happy with Dr Morse. I'm sure he'll retire in a few years and then we'll switch to Dr Nijher. She's seen both boys and we really like her too.
I was sitting in an eye doctor's office waiting for my husband to get out of his lasik procedure, and one of the ladies told me about Dr. Logas at Ocala Pediatrics. She said he was really good, and we were getting ready to look for a new Ped. Dr. closer to where we were living, so I made an appt. We have loved Dr. Logas from the first time he saw my son. We liked him so much, I changed my daughter to him, instead of the one she was seeing in Gainesville. He's so close to home, and he is very gentle. Wonderful Doctor!
I LOVE Dr. Saha's office!! My little one was in NICU when he was born and he was there EVERY day to check up on him. He made us feel soo comfortable and all. I would recamend him to everybody!!! Also depending on the insuranse depends on who you can go to also.
I had chosen Dr Kraut as my original ped. But around 18 months she started becoming uncomfortable with him. I think partly because we started discussing the difference of males/females and about her "private" areas. So I sought out a female ped and found Dr Qamar. I love her and so does my daughter. Caleigh is very comfy with her, even when she had her 1st problem from holding her bathroom visits.
I went with Ocala Peds due to word of mouth and the fact that they are open on Sat and Sun til noon for sick child appts. I love Dr. Logas as well. He is very easy going and the kids just love him. Our oldest is 8 and we have been doing there since he was born.
I love Dr. Saha. When we moved here from Connecticut I didn't know a soul, so I called around to various ped offices to do interviews (kind of like what you do when your pregnant with your first). Ocala Peds wanted to charge me an office visit! I felt like they were in the business for the wrong reasons at that point. I called Saha's office (that back when he was partnered with Shrinath - now Shrinath has his own office). Saha's office was really happy to have us interview them and the DR actually said he wished more parents who were moving to the area or were dissatisfied with their current DR would do interviews as well so that the parents could make sure that they were going to pick the right DR for their child(ren).
Dr. Saha is excellent. Christopher had severe asthma and sinus issues and was constantly sick when he was younger and Dr. Saha was very proactive in getting it under control so that Christopher could live his life fully without restrictions. I don't trust anyone else when it comes to Christopher's lungs. And when we run into him in town, Dr. Saha always hugs him and talks with him to see how he's doing and what he's been up to. I absolutely love Dr. Saha!
Ocala Peds is who told me they don't do prenatal interview appointments. The woman on the phone said I'd just pick a Dr. Magically I guess b/c I didn't know who was who, lol.
Dr. Logas is AWESOME!!! I was like you and heard good and bad about everyone around town. I chose Dr. Logas because he saw my son in the hospital when he was first born at MRMC and he seemed so down to earth. 2 1/2 years and a daughter later, I know I made the right choice.
Dr Logas is the greatest. He was recommended to me when I was pregnant and it has been my best decision I have ever made. I recommend him to every one I know.
My girls love him and he is a doctor that I truly trust.
Like he always tells my husband and I about our kids. "He's a KEEPER"
