The story of those 8 kids who beat up the fellow girl makes me sick -- I can't watch the videos.
http://www.ocala.com/article/20080412/NEWS/804120341/0/VIDEO is the story. The victim's parents blame online sites like youtube and myspace. What do you think? How old does your child have to be to use myspace and youtube? Why did you choose that age? And if you allow it, what kind of monitoring do you do? Curious... Elizabeth Mommy to Jodi (4/17/06) |

I think sites such as youtube and myspace certainly contribute to this behaviour - I mean, those girls didn't come into this world with an innate sense to film violence and broadcast it for the world to see. They had to learn it somewhere. I also don't think that is a justification for the behavior. There are a lot of mixed variables that contribute to this type of violence with such young people. My oldest at 10 is not allowed to go on those sites yet, but I would also like to hear from other parents about the age limits they set for going to sites such as these.

I just looked at that video and it is just crazy. My youngest is a fifteen year old boy and he's not allowed on either youtube or my space. The two sites seem to draw the kids in and keep them zoned, they can just go on and on fron one link to another and they can view inapproperate things as well thats why there blocked on my puter. Those girls (it Appears) really planned this out and it scares me to death how freely the were able to pull it off.
