Good Morning Ladies, This is a great site...and for just about anything. I have lived in Ocala about all my life, married almost 11 years (July 12) with two kids. I have been a SAHM since having my kids. Which I wouldn't change for the world that I did. Hubby has his own pest control business (www.smcpest.com) here in Ocala that I help with. Just last year our youngest started K5 and I had empty nest syndrome that I took up nannying. I keep one baby and her name is Margaret as well Smiler I keep her in my home so I can still help hubby with our pest control business. Plus it works out for the mom as she drives right past my way on her way to work. Look forward to meeting you all.

Welcome, Margaret! (The double Margarets threw me off for a second, lol!)
Glad to have you here!
We haven't had any pest control service in awhile....I've been looking for something a little more natural to feel better about it around the dogs and my DD.
Since you all are the experts Smiler what do you recommend as far as pest control treatments that are kid/animal-friendly?

Hello Elizabeth as for something more natural I would have to ask the DH as he's the one with the state license and certificates Smiler I will get with him and get back to you. I do know the chemicals we use are safe for animals and children but yet help to get rid of your problems. With us being parents we prefer to use something thats safe for your kids and animals and we knows our customers would prefer the same Smiler

So I will let you know as soon as I talk to him about it!

Thanks for asking! I appreciate it!!
I am curious about it. It's something I've been meaning to figure out but it kept getting pushed back, and in the meantime I just quit using the company we previously had. I didn't really care for them anyway and I'm sure what they were using was not the best for a kid and dogs.

I asked hubby and his rely was, "there really is no "Safe" pesticides. Even "Natural" pesticides are poisonous as they are labeled to kill pest off, the best option is if you are worried about kids and animals is to use a bait in places they can't get to on the inside and to do a perimeter insecticides treatment on the outside to prevent pest problems."

Thanks Margaret! Makes plenty of sense. Interesting, though, since the natural pesticides tout being so natural and kid and pet friendly but that is a good point -- are they really killing bugs, too, or are they really so 'natural'....

Sigh. If there were just a treatment to rid the yard of snakes (total phobia of them....)
