Hello ladies.....I was so excited to see this great forum when do some research for our possible relocation back to the Ocala area. We moved to Ohio a little over 3 years ago to care for my husbands father. We miss it there a lot! My husband and I have three amazing children Kendall 11, Zachary 8, and Kaleigh 7. It looks like with the current market we will have a lot of housing options. Our biggest hurdle will be relocating my business. I am a photographer and I specialize in maternity, newborns, children & families. I have a very successful studio and great relationships with my clients....they are like family to us. My husband would leave today if he could to come back. Again I am glad to have found this board. It will help me a lot in finding out all that is going on in Ocala. Have a great day!

We will be looking for a four bedroom home in a great kid friendly neighborhood. Does anyone know of any available? We will also be looking for a commercial space for my studio. Hopefully something affordable with character. Maybe something near downtown. Thanks for any help you can give us in this area!

Heather,
Ocala is huge! Downtown is central. We are in the SW end and it takes 20- 30 minutes to get to downtown. There are so many houses on the market, just figure which end you want.
Good Luck,
warmly,
Melinda

Heather,

You might want to check out school districts to see where you're comfortable. Then look at the housing options - I think they are wide open right now all over the area. It sounds like Kendall might be looking at a middle school soon (unless you home school or want to go private) so I would look at zoning as a consideration, anyway. Hope you are able to come back!

Hi Heather!

Welcome! I think the Historic Downtown area would be great to look at for a home! Once you pass 14th Ave, you're still in that "Historic Area" but not actually in the Historic District. There are many great house for sell right now. Smiler This area is beautiful with gorgeous old trees, lots of young families, and many parks within walking distance. The schools are great too! Eighth Street Elementary, Oseola Middle, and Forrest High (I think.) Good luck! Smiler
