Hello Ladies!

I moved here from Kansas City 3 months ago and still have no girlfriends here! I am a stay at home mom (trying to find a job) and need to get away badly!

I am going through a separation from my husband right now and need to meet some girlfriends so I can build my life here.

Any ladies up for a meet and greet or girl's night out tonight or tomorrow night? It can be a meal or just an hour for a drink or two. I'm desperate. I'm unfamiliar with the places to go to meet people here. Any suggestions would be wonderful. I have to get out of the house both tonight and tomorrow night, so I'll be out and about regardless.

Smiler Would love to meet any of you. Feel free to message me on Ocalamom or email me at karilburkholder@hotmail.com

Hope to get in touch with some of you!

Kari

Hi Kari, I'm sorry to hear that you're going through such a rough time in your life! Your offer to get out sounds GREAT but I'm not usually able to get out during the week with dinner, kids, homewrk, baths the list goes on. My daughter went to the mall yesterday with her friend & her mom & I wanted to go so badly but my daugh who is 8 said "no". she feels more grwon up without me!! I'm a sahm who really hates going anywhere these days, but maybe in the near future something can be planned. Hang in there & I'm usually on this site during the day if you need an ear!!

Thank you so much for your well wishes. I can understand not being able to get away. I've been the same way for so long. Mabe some day we can get together for a mommy lunch for those who stay home. That would be nice too. I'm currently looking for a job, but could do it until I find one!

I look forward to talking to you again!

Kari

What kind of work are you looking for? I've heard that it's not easy to do at this time. I wouldn't mind finding something at night being that I have 3 kids in school & not to mention what to do with them during the summer months. I really don't want someone else watching my kids so a night job would be nice. Maybe walmart?? Lunch would be better for me, maybe some of the other mommies would like to get a date together as well.

I am looking for any administrative assistant, clerical, receptionist or data entry position. I am also an experienced retail manager and have over 5 years experience in that as well as bakery and catering management. I have also owned my own desktop publishing company for 2 years. I designed and made custom invitations, announcements and stationery. I am a graphic illustrator of sorts...

So I guess you could say I have some interesting skills. All of which are hard positions to fill when you have been out of the work force for 3 years. Frowner I HAVE to have a job where I can drop off and pick up my kids from daycare everyday. I am the sole caretaker of our children, so I have to have a little flexibility.. It's a lot to ask for at this point of time with the economy the way it is, I know.

I would love to do lunch. Let's see if other mommies want to join us and mabe we can decide on a date and time?

Heya Moms, I see the plight with the jobs and everyone. I am also a mother, my kids are almost grown, got 1 left at home and then I am done (Right) LoL

Anywho I work from home and I have a really good schedule, I actually work for the biggest Retail Electronic company. They just had a major ramp up for the holidays and all and what amazes me is that they were all hired and they work from home but they call in sick! You're home. Your not going to infect anyone but yourself. Jobs are scarce and they call in sick. If you could work from home would you do something so silly, or the other day another person called in saying there car broke down!
I have been working from home now for over a yr, the good part, you dont have to commute, you dont have to worry about what you look like!
No traffic, no fuss, work your shift and sometimes you can pick up xtra hours with the holidays!!!

I wish you luck in your quest to find jobs!!!

Hope you all have a good one!

Have you tried sending a resume to Signature Brands? They supply the items for Betty crocker cakes and are always looking for people. They were just hiring recently to cover the holiday demands for their products. They never slow down

Signature Brands is located on the service rd located next to 1_75. The rd behind the college going towards Carlton arms and Pulte homes headquarters is right at the light. make a right and go about 1/4 of a mile on the left!

Good luck
