Hi Linette! Welcome to the forum!
You should come to a LLL playgroup we have (Thursday a.m.) (Except I just see you work so you may not be able to.)
That's the closest AP-like group here.
When's Kelly's birthday? My DD's bday is 4/17. I think we're doing a puppy-themed party this year. Smiler
What's your degree in from UF?

Hi Elizabeth...thanks!
Yes, unfortunately, I cant do Thurs am. We used to the Balcony thing, but had to quit b.c. of work Frowner

I would like to help her find some girlfriends..all my friends have little boys! But come school I know she will make some! Her birthday is April 19.

My degree from UF is in criminal law...my grad degree from Barry U. (in Miami) is clinical social work...I love my work, but I love being a mom first -- its a balance.

I had thought about trying out that kindermusic group in the evenings...have you heard anything about that? And we will start swimming again in April -- she has really loved that...this will be her third summer there (we have loved Perry Swim School).

Looking forward to the chats...thanks again!

I haven't tried the kindermusik here. There's a woman in the Gainesville AP group who owned a music lesson company but had her 2nd baby recently and is taking some time off.
I know the kindermusik classes in Gainesville are pretty popular so I would assume they are here. Where are they here? We need to check into that!
Maybe we could start a thread in the playgroup section for a Saturday meet up for everyone.
Will do that in a few minutes....

Hi Welcome!

WOW! Lots of April birthdays! Campbell's is 4/28. He'll be 4, too!

Does your little girl go to preschool anywhere? Campbell just started this year and LOVES it and has made many new friends......... friends that we now meet outside of school for playgroups. Smiler

I know the library offers a storytime in the evenings, but not sure when or what days.

If you think you might be ready for preschool, registration for Fall (starting in September) has already begun. If you're interested, let me know and I will get you the contact information. Smiler

Welcome ! My little girls B-day is 3-21, we are having an all girls princess themed tea party . She is turning 5 and will be starting school in Aug. I have her in ballet classes @ a step above dance school it is a good way for her to interact with other little girls in her age frame .I also work and I know that it is difficult to find play groups that go with your work schedule.

Hi J&J...that sounds too fun! What a great idea. We tried dance at honey's and she just didnt like it...but I thought we would try again. She really liked when we went to Balcony but it was more a mommy and me thing. Where is step above located? Is that the one off maricamp in the plaza by ciccios? We are on the SW side of town.

As far as preschool goes, I am still unsure as to whether or not we want to go for next fall, Katie...but the contact info wouldnt hurt, as I am still debating. Are there slots open or a waiting list?
Thanks for the info and support!

Hi Melinda...Balcony youth sports complex is a mostly gymnastics place pretty near CFCC...they have tumbling classes for 18 months and up. We went for about a year, but then we had to quit because of my work schedule. I highly recommend them for that...Ms. Denise was great. I have heard good things about their programs for older kids too (gymnastics, dance, cheerleading, etc). Smiler

My middle daughter Isabella has been going to Balcony for about 6 months now. Shes in the tumblebees program and she LOVES and adores it. I wish it were more often! Its a time for her to be around kids her age and get rid of some energy!! They also do birthday parties! I highly recommend them. They stay packed for they are also an afterschool care type provider as well!

Hey Linette,

Ms. Kim Tesch is the contact you need for Happy Hearts preschool. The phone number there is
352-622-7636. It's a GREAT program and if your little one is almost 4, she would probably benefit greatly from it. You can choose 3 or 5 days a week and they're only there for 3 1/2 hours. Smiler Good luck!

Kidfetti actually got canceled for us. Frowner The tents that the Star Banner had set up the day before collapsed Saturday morning during the down pour and all the t-shirts and activities for the kiddos were ruined! BUMMER!!! So, we had a nice quiet weekend at home. Smiler Got the crib up! YAY!
