Hello ladies! I'm Trish and I've recently moved back home (to Ocala) after finishing up my undergrad at FSU. My husband and I are expecting our first sometime this month and cannot wait! Currently, I'm a stay at home mom-to-be, just waiting for him to arrive. I'm a younger mom (22), and would love to meet other moms with new babies and get advice from all the seasoned vets! Looking forward to meeting you!!

Welcome, Trish!
(I'll overlook the FSU part. Wink Just teasing. My great-aunt and great-uncle went to FSU and live in Tally.)

Are you planning on nursing? If so, I know that LLL of Marion County has a pretty active group and playdates, etc... ('cause we go to said playdates. Smiler ) And you can go to the meetings while still pregnant.

Or, several moms posted links on here to their meetup groups.

Anyway, congratulations! My not-so-much a baby turns 2 in April and I remember spending March 2 years ago wondering when she would ever grace us w/ her presence. Smiler

I'd like to think I'm a young mom, too, but my upcoming birthday and the realization that I graduated from college 6 years ago leaves me thinking otherwise. Roll Eyes

Hi Trish! Welcome!

Congrats on your new baby! I'm also expecting, due in about 11 weeks! Our second, but it's been four years, so it's all new again to me!

I also know that the library is a great place to meet moms with kiddos of all ages. They have certain time slots for story time depending on their ages. Also, MOPS is a great group to get involved in!

Hi Trisha, welcome to Ocala.. Go NOLES! Not an alumni, but a huge fan! I have a 10 month old son and when we were pregnant we attended the LLL meetings. It helped me immensly and I still attend them. There are weekly playgroups and I'm hosting on April 3. I live in the SW end - Sun Valley. Maybe I'll see you at are next LLL meeting? Its April 5 11:00 at the Ocala Library (main branch-silver springs blvd) Good Luck, there are so many moms groups and you'll find your way.
Warm Regards,
Melinda

Hi Melinda,

Sorry for the delayed response! My mom has been in town for the last week from Oklahoma. Smiler

I think the MOPS play group meets every other Thursday in the mornings. I'm not personally involved, tho I do plan to be, but MANY of my friends are, so I will talk with them about how to go about involved. Will get back with you about it asap!

wait until your not so much a baby turns 4! I just realized even her feet are looking like "kid" feet - shes definitely not a baby anymore... Smiler Smiler And it was like all of sudden for me...Oh people kept saying shes not a baby anymore, shes a big girl, but secretly I would scoff and say, she is too a baby still...but, alas, not anymore!!
Her birthday is 4/19 - so enjoy the next two years anyway, Elizabeth ;-)

All these April birthdays!

I think we need an OcalaMoms kid birthday park date or something!

Well, you have until the 19th maybe to keep calling her a baby? lol

This past week has been so toddlerific. smile. I keep dreaming that I have my baby baby back and not someone w/ her own (very loudly asserted) opinions. Smiler (She has already soaked her pair of new pedipeds in the water table this morning and decided she's training pants-free today and putting them on her doll instead. Roll Eyes )
