Hello to all! I'm so glad that Ocala has caught on and provided an easy place for us moms to visit to get the inside scoop from those that know best...our neighbors! I was born and raised in Ocala. I have two kiddos; Cooper is almost 4 and Elizabeth is almost 18mon. We live on a farm in North Ocala. Is anyone out there planning on getting their 3/4 year old involved in playing sports this summer? (tee-ball,soccer, etc.) If so, share details!

Welcome! Love the name Cooper and, well, Elizabeth is a pretty cool name, too. Cool

A farm?! Fun! My DD loves all sorts of animals -- can name them all and make their noises. My grandparents have a ranch in Webster and she loves visiting and feeding the cows pellets (though I admit I was a bit nervous w/ her hand going next to a bull's mouth -- she isn't even 2 yet after all. Smiler )

Yes, my 17 mon. old also loves to make animal noises. Cow and horse are her favorite. You definately have to be careful around those bulls. Never know what they're going to do. Do your grandparents have any other animals on their farm, besides cows?

No. Just a variety of cattle (with Longhorns for pets. lol)
They just visit there -- they live in Melbourne -- but that's where my great-grandparents lived and had the property (and the old western store in Webster was my great-grandparents' store.) They used to have a bunch of other animals there when they were alive, though.

Mine loved cows and horses and now is big on donkeys, roosters, sheep, pig, etc...
Kids are so silly.
What kind of animals do you all have?

You can borrow a goat any time! The pool video is soooo adorable! He really is a pro. Coop needs lessons.

Hi, Erin! I'm so excited to have found this site and to have found YOU on it! I just saw a video with Cooper playing on the Happy Hearts playground (about tips for taking great pictures of our kids).... too cute! My boys are a little bit older (7 and 9 years old), but we discovered the Marty Smith All-Sports Camp at CFCC last summer and HIGHLY recommend it! It's for boys and girls, ages 6-12. They rotate through 5 differents sports each day, plus they get lunch, movie time, and get to swim! As a mom of two boys, I really wanted my boys to "fit in" with the other boys...to be able to join in a game of baseball or flag football on the playground or at the park. This sports camp taught them the basics, without stressing the competition end of athletics. Now, 8 months later, my boys LOVE sports... both just finished playing flag football at the YMCA and both are playing baseball at Highlands. Instead of spending time inside in front of the computer or tv, they, now, rush home to get outside to play basketball or throw the baseball or football in the backyard. THANK YOU, Marty Smith All-Sports Camp!!!!

Thanks for the info. Sounds like a great way to introduce all sports to your kiddo. We'll have to try it in a couple of years when he's old enough.

Great investigative skills, Erin!!! Yes, I, too, miss the good 'ole days at FHS. You girls left me with some memories that will last a lifetime! I know it sounds corny, because we're both "grown ups" now, but I'm really, really proud of you, Erin! You're a great person and it sounds like you are a fabulous mom!!! Great job!!!
