My son is almost 11 months and is already in need of his first haircut (well actually trim). I'm to afraid to do it myself, I don't want to cut him or mess up his hair. I called the lady that does my hair and she want's $20 to cut his hair (I think that a bit much, seeing as how it's only $28 to cut my hair). Does anyone out there have any reccomendations, that won't break the bank?

I took my daughter to Gold Star located at Pearl Britian Plaza many years ago. They had a teddy bear that she sat in to have her hair cut. I don't know if they still have the bear but you can call and see how much they charge. Good Luck

I have taken my kids to Shear Design Studio on 14th street for many years. Ask for Andrea, she is great with kids ( and also my best friend Smiler). I believe the cost for kids is 14.00.

I take my boys to hair hut on I beleive 8th & 14th st, I think he charges $10 each. There is a place or there was out there by fun factory that seems to cater to kids. Never been there myself. I think $20 is outragous for a kids cut.

My 16-month-old is the 4th generation of males in my family to go to Sam Rou's barbershop Smiler It's in the plaza that has Mother Earth & Carriage Trade on the Boulevard, left-hand side of the plaza. Great cuts for $10.

My hubby has cut his own hair since he was 17 and he refused to cut our sons hair. says he's afraid he would mess it up. So a friend referred me to Flat Toppers and that is where I have taken my son ever since and he just turned 7. They charge $10 for a child cut and are so friendly. Talk to the child the whole time so the child is comfortable.

My son likes them so much that when I have mentioned to DH that he needs to just trim up the hair on DS, DS refuses and say no I wanna go see the barber Smiler

They take walk ins or appt and their number is 671-7623‎.

I have 3 boys and people have suggested the following places to me:
1. Boots Barber in 6 Gun Plaza/Bealls Shopping Center by Outback
2.Barber shop near Blockbuster Video on the Blvd (not sure the name)
3. Barber shop in Albertson's Shopping Plaza (don't know the name either)
4. Barber shop in the gas station plaza near Jervy Gantt pool on 36th Ave.
5.Barber shop in the Bank of America strip on Baseline Road near Trinity Baptist

All have boy cuts for around $10 or $12 and about a $2 tip

I take my son to Hair Hut too (on corner of NE 8th Ave and NE 14th St). Its a real barber shop. I've taken him since my son was 3 years old. The barber does a terrific job and yes, he's still charges $10.

I ended up getting it cut at Boots. That's where my nephew goes so I tried it. They did a pretty good job. My little guy acted like such a big kid too. He sat on my lap just trying to watch the scissors. Just got a little trim but he looks a little older already!
