I think that just about everytime I had friends sleep over my mom would fix this for us. Now I am able to make it for my little family and I don't think my kids ever eat as much for breakfast as when I make this.
Donuts....who doesn't like donuts!?! I know it's not the healthiest breakfast, but it fills their tummies and I don't have to wry about feeding them at least for a couple of hours. All you need is a roll of biscuits (the kind you find in the refridgerated aisle at the grocery store), an oil of your choice to cook them in, and ingred. to make the dips/toppings you want. Take the raw biscuits out of the container and punch out the centers (for the donut holes). Warm up your oil in a large skillet and carefully drop your raw bisuits in the oil. Brown on one side, then careful flip and brown on the other. (If you cook them too hot/fast, the middle will be doughy). Let them cool and then let the kids pick their toppings. Our favorite toppings are sugar, sugar and cinnamon, confect. sugar, frosting made w/ cofect. sugar, and chocolate frosting made w/ confect. sugar. I can give you those recipes if your interested...very simple. You could also add sprinkles or use food coloring to change the frosting color. It really is soooo yummy and I remember it very fondly from my childhood. There's nothing like passing down something that was such a fond memory growing up.
