We have hit the age where she doesn't want to be in a shopping cart (seat or middle part) and will cry the entire time dramatically going "walk! walk." If she gets down, she really is pretty good staying w/ me and she likes to parade around wearing her sunglasses, the dress she chose to wear and w/ her little mini Vera Bradley purse from grandmommy slung over her shoulder.
But today we went shopping at a store where there were no carts at all and I forgot to bring my Ergo to carry her in. Bam! Off she goes down aisles running away from me (often trying to grab a shirt first from a pile -- I swear just to distract me to put it up while she saunters off.) You moms w/ older kids: how long does this phase last? Or, I'm guessing this is really why people try to do all shopping sans kids. Geez. It was good exercise at least, though, lol.
