So I went to Publix this afternoon b/c DD is out of YoBaby apple and blueberry yogurt and that constitutes a crisis in these parts.
So she came w/ b/c she refused to stay home w/ daddy or with grandmommy who is visiting this weekend. She was so proud of herself, BTW, in big girl underwear and not diapers!!
She wanted to walk. I carried her in to the store and she flipped out about the front of the cart so she sat in the big portion for a little bit. Then after an aisle she started the 2 y/o 'tude and kept telling me she wanted to walk. It wasn't that busy and she's really good about staying w/ me so I let her.
She was fine and we got to an aisle and there was a grandmother w/ an older little girl there. She waited until our carts passed each other and she said to her little girl -- Oh, I bet you'd love to be down wandering around like her, huh?
Thought nothing of it at first but then started wondering -- was she just being chatty w/ her little girl or was she trying some passive aggressive comment about me letting my child walk?? I admit I am a pretty relaxed parent. My philosophy is to pick your battles and that as long as she is safe, not disturbing others, etc... that I can be flexible and let her try to assert her new independence.
