What are your tried-and-true tips?

I think, by the time I was almost 42 weeks, I had tried everything. I was *downing* EPO -- upping the dosage every day, lol. I did at least tell my midwife I was taking EPO....

I refused to try castor oil, though, as I've heard nothing good.

I walked a lot (had been doing dog agility until my midwife caught on to that when I was 41 weeks and told me to get my hiney home and stop.)

Spicey food -- agh. Nothing was spicy enough (from the lady who can't touch mild salsa when not pregnant.) I kept coating my food w/ hot sauce and could barely taste it.

One of my best friends went in labor, as did her mom, after eating fried clams. I tried that one night -- all I got was food poisoning. At least peanut stopped kicking while I was throwing up. Yuck. I'd had a stomach virus 2 weeks earlier, too.

When it came down to it, I should have been on hands and knees -- DD was in perfect position unil 40 weeks when she turned OP (occiput posterior.) Not the way you want them. PLus, her head was tilted.

So....I agreed to an induction.
Anyway, now I've veered off, but I really think the EPO helped b/c I went FAST once the Cervadil was placed.

So I will start that stuff earlier next time. Seriously -- I don't even remember the dosage but those capsules were my BFF for a couple of weeks in my never, never-ending pregnancy. Smiler

So, what did you do to induce (or help encourage) labor?
