What are some of your preschooler's fav foods?
How do you get them to eat vegetables?
I bought Jessica Seinfeld's book -- Deceptively Delicious -- and need to start using it. (Of course, my toddler, bless her little heart, still eats almost all fruits and veggies offered to her.)

ha..its challenging isnt it?!! Parmesan cheese and ranch dressing - thats the way we get veggies to be appetizing. Raw carrots with ranch are usually well received and usually anything with some parm on it - peas, broccoli, corn, squash. And romaine lettuce on everything. I have that book too...some of the recipes are actually quite good! I am ALWAYS looking for other good ideas though...great topic.

My little one seems to have started liking veggies more and more as she grows older. Part of the reason may be because we call the veggies by other names. Broccoli are "little trees" and we stand them up on her plate. Green beans are "Sweet beanies" and any other type of bean are "jumpin beanies," she loves edamame for that reason.
As to fruit, she eats a smoothie every afternoon made with two kinds of fresh or frozen fruit, yogurt, milk and vanilla.

I saw the Jessica Seinfeld book on Oprah, I want to try the beet-chocolate cake!

Lucky for me, Carley is like her mom and doesn't discriminate against any type of food!

A new snack I just started making for my little one. It's so yummy & he eats it up fast!

Take a whole bananna & dip it into yogurt.
Roll that bananna into Grape Nut cereal....
Put it in the freezer for about 30 mins & then cut it up.

Healthy fun snack!!!

You can also try putting the bananna on a stick....... Fun stuff!!!

Veggies have all the sudden taken a hault for my youngest. He just turned 18months & all the sudden wants nothing to do with any veggie. He will even pick it off a spoon if he sees anything.

Any tips - would greatly be appreciated!! He has always eaten everything & anything - never been picky - till all the sudden - boom!!!

Speaking of freezing....I gave DD frozen mixed veggies last week and she thought it was hilarious -- and ate them all!

Will have to try that banana idea for her -- she loves them (they make me want to throw up!)

For veggies, he probably will go back to eating them if you don't make a big deal. Or you could use reverse psychology. Smiler
Or puree them and add them to foods (like the Jessica Seinfeld book and the Creative Chef -- I think -- book.) I just cooked and pureed and froze some butternut squash to add to meals.
You could use spaghetti squash as noodles and they may not know the difference?
Though some kids I think are rather clever and certainly know when even the slightest hint of a veggie is added to foods.
