Does anyone else have kids going to Emerald Shores? My kids bus stop was cut out due to budget cuts so I am trying to start a car pool. I am available to take kids to school everyday, I just need a parent or parents to take children home from school. My husband is available to pick kids up most Monday and Tuesdays. I need parents for Wednesday, Thursday, and Fridays. Any suggestions please let me know! Thank you everyone for atleast looking.

Are you sure? I would double check again. From my understanding that rule did not affect ele. students and the other day in the paper it sounded as if they were going to create "hubs" so that kids that did live within two miles would still be able to ride the bus. Check ocala.com for details. I hope this helps

I did check the paper, I also contacted the school, department of transpportation, and the reporter who wrote the article. The hub stop for my kids is 7/10ths of a mile from my home. To far for my 5, 7, and 8 year old to walk. The reporter even quoted me in his article. I also have called the school board. My kids bus stops is and will continue to be non-existant this year. they either have to walk to teh school or the hub stop. Thank you for trying to help though!

My childs bus stop was taken out completely, there isn't even a hub stop. We live 1.9 miles from the school and they told me that my 5y/o could either walk or I would have to drive him. I live in an apartment complex with atleast 15 other elementary students, I would think that constitutes a bus stop...So where exactly is our tax money and the florida lottery money going? With all these budget cuts I wouldn't be suprised if they try and take the buses away all together in the next few years.

My son is in the magnet program at howard middle,he used to be able to catch what they refer to as a hub bus at shady hill where I drop off my other 2 children so it was quite convienant. That is no longer available. His school starts 2 hours after the other and now I have to figure out a way to get him there and get to work and be able to pick him and my other ones up..I called the transportation office and she was quite indignant and suggested I transfer him to his "zoned" school.I dont know how they expect parents to work and be able to drive their children to and from school.Sorry bout ranting lol
