My daughter started swim lessons 2 weeks ago at CFCC. I was so nervous during the first lesson when they told me starting the next night the kids will be going under water and every night thereafter. I could not do it! So, my husband has been doing the lessons with her. She cried the first 3 lessons and now she tells everyone she sees that she goes "under water." The lessons have been great and since they started she is swimming all over the pool and now is not afraid to lay on her back either.
My nephew just completed the class last week or so. He cried the first time as well. Now that he is finished he is very proud to tell everyone he goes swimming. He wants to show everyone and always come over and swim in the pool. Coach S is a great swim teacher, I actually had her for a Phys Ed Coach in high school and so did my sister and brother. I am 7 months pregnant now, I will definitely take my little girl to swim lessons there when she is of age.
And 06ChargedHemi -- you are *7* mos pregnant now? My hats off to all you mamas who are so pregnant in the summer! I'm complaining of the heat and I'm not pregnant! lol
I am taking my children to CFCC also for swim class. We survived the first week! LOL. My little boy was screaming and kicking but on Thursday he walked to the pool without a fuss. My 4 year old daughter is doing great . She already can jump in the pool and kick across to the instructor.
I really recommend this swim school. Everyone is really nice that works here.
UPDATE! So it has been two and a half months since we completed the class and my daughter is swimming like a fish! She is almost 30 months old and jumping off the side (no floaties) and swimming 12 feet to the steps! I will continue to take her every summer but am so excited about the progress she's made!
