I have a favorite consignment shop in town, but Im curious what else might be out there.

Does anyone else take/buy from a local consignment shop? If so which one?

If you're talking kid's consignments, my favorite is Kid Stuff. There is one over on Maricamp in the Winn-Dixie plaza, but they're really expensive. I've seen clothes in there from Target that are priced the same as Target themselves.

There is another one down on SR200 called Serendipity (they just opened last summer, hopefully they're still there). They're expensive too, but I was able to find name brands (like Gap and Tommy Hilfiger) there for less than buying new.

Those are the only ones I can think of now, but I'm always on the lookout for a new one.

I use Repeat Street on the Boulevard in the Bealls Six Gun Plaza. SHe is picky about what name brands she'll take but I always use my credit to buy my son the next size he'll be growing into. Lots of baby stuff there. However, it is hard to find good quality stuff after boys turn 4 or so. They are just so rough on their clothes after that age.

I think there is another on in the Clock Tower Plaza on the S curve. I can't remember the name but it is near where Kinsman Tree was a long time ago. The lady that runs it is very nice.

I use Kid Stuff, too. Smiler I love to go in there. And they are pretty picky about what they keep. They always give me some of the stuff I drop off back. (or they will donate it to a church, I think in Ft. McCoy?) boogsoup, Kidstuff is the one in the Clock Tower Plaza.

I'll have to look into Repeat Street. Is it kids stuff only. Boys clothing is difficult to find! God bless 'em! Big Grin

I'll have to try Repeat Street too. You're right...boys are tough on their clothes!!! It is getting harder to find things for my son.

I just recently bought a bike for my son at Kid Stuff. I absolutely love that place! I just brought a few more things there that my son grew out of and found the bike on display. He is growing out of his bike and we were starting to look at getting him a larger size when I saw this one there (its a Mongoose that was for $40 - at Target they had it for $120).

I love Kids Stuff on the S Curve! The owner is so nice as are her two daughters that also work there. I went to Repeat Street when my daughter was first born. The quality was much better than most of the consignment stores I'd been to (hence the pickiness). But everytime I went in there the owner was so rude. I haven't been back in over a year.

The owner is a drawback to Repeat Street. My hubby refuses to take stuff in there for me because she just isn't real friendly. I was in there last week and there was a new girl at the counter. I overheard her with a customer say that the owner, Renee, wouldn't be at the store very much because she and her hubby bought some other business in town. Not sure what type of business. Anyway, the new girl wasn't much more social than Renee.

Someone asked if it is just kids items. They have baby clothes, toys for all ages, strollers, bassinets, changing tables, jumparoos, bouncy seats, crib bedding, maternity, baby bathtubs, parenting books, etc. It is hit or miss there. You just have to keep checking to see what they've gotten in each week.

I really like Serendipity all of her items are nice and well priced. I think it moved closer to 75 in jasmine square or something like that but its on the left hand side coming from dunnellon now not the left as it use to be. The owner is nice and helpful and its just a nice store to go into. I'm not found of any of the others that you have to search for things that are all tossed together. Serendipity is nicley laid out so you can find everything without haveing to dig through racks of yucky clothing. JMO

I have been going to Repeat Street for years and love it! They by far have the nicest quality of any other store in town. When you bring consignments in, they are very picky, but I like that because I dont like to root thru garbage to find the good stuff- it is all good stuff. The owner and her employees have always been very nice to me and my friends when we go in there...I think because they are so picky about what they take in, some people might think that is rude because they wont take all their stuff and they get offended by it. Also, their prices are the best- Kids Stuff and Serendepity want new prices for used stuff!
