Here are some tips I found today to save on gas.
Do you have any good ones? I just try to be good w/ accelerating slowly, but I am awful about drive-thrus. I do not get out -- because my whole point of eating that garbage is I have nothing else w/ me, I'm on the road and I have a sleeping kid or I have a kid who will melt down if she gets out and goes in one more place. KWIM?! lol

I haven't gone to the link posted yet, but here's some I know of:

Get gas in the morning. The hotter it is outside, the more the gas expands and your get less for your buck.

Don't squeeze the handle thing in all of the way. Only squeeze about half way. The faster it comes out the more fumes come out w/ it and once again...less gas for your buck.

Don't buy from Citgo or Petro Express. The less we buy from them...the more they will have to lower they're prices and then everyone else will have to come down, too.

I forgot about the morning tip, though that's usually when I do it b/c I hate standing out in the muggy summer heat in the afternoon getting gas.

I hadn't heard about squeezing halfway. Will start doing that!

Another thing that will save gas is to make sure that your car/truck is properly tuned up, clean air filter and proper air in the tires. Anything that makes your engine work harder (like tires that are low) can lower your gas mileage.

Also, not that this is a gas tip, but if you ever pull into a filling station and the "gas truck" is there putting gas into the underground tank......TURN AROUND. The gas flow into the underground stirs up sediment and if you are filling your car at the same time, that sediment is going into your car.

I've always wondered about that. I admit I have still pumped gas b/c there was nothing really close and I was low....
