OK -- I watched (and hoped this would happen) as a new (the 3rd one at this intersection?!) gas station opened recently on 326 at the intersection of ....crud. The road that is Old Jax road maybe? The one that goes through Anthony???? Blanking.
Anyway, went to Gainesville today and was super thrilled to notice gas at the corner had dropped down to 3.83 at the new station and the diamond oil and Shell had dropped prices, too. Now -- the 3.83 was cash or BP card only. I hate when they do that. I am not a fan of in and out of car seat trips...so I paid the extra amount which was 3.91 -- a big difference since usually the cash vs CC isn't that big. Anyway, if you are willing to run in the store to pay cash, great deal to be had! (Who can believe I am saying 3.83 is a great deal?!!!) There were lines there both times I drove by today. I also saw that. I went to the Diamond Oil on the same corner and it was 3.85 for credit card and if you pay cash it was 5 cents cheaper. I haven't seen gas prices that cheap anywhere else in Ocala.
