This is Mrs RobertRon. Try Skatemania, we had our daughters party there also the local bowling alleys offer lanes for parties. Depending on where you live some of the Community Centers are rentable. Marion Oaks Community Center rents out for parties. Silver Springs use to rent out a room for weddings and parties, I don't know if they still do. Try your local churches also, they may have a room big enough for a bunch of kids. Hope we helped

Thanks so much for everyone's advice. At least we've got a good list going for everyone to use when planning a party in Ocala.
My latest phone call was to Silver River State Park. Sounds promising, but we'll still have to worry about the weather. Going to check it out this weekend.

I was super impressed w/ Silver River for kids when we were there last week. Totally don't want to rat out my new fave place, but the shade is lovely and the park equipment was clean and nice. Staff there was very helpful, too. We had several rangers we saw while there.

I did!! I've been meaning to post, but just hadn't gotten around to it yet. We decided on Silver River. The fam. took a ride out there and we decided it would be perfect for our mix of really young kids and really old family The playground is a little smaller than what I pictured, but should be fine for 10 or so. And the older members of my family will enjoy sitting in the shade. We rented a small pavillion and I ordered all of the decor. and paper goods yesterday. Now all we have to do is pray for good weather that day! All prayers are welcomed!

Hope it goes well! It was really pretty when we were out there last. Of course, the day after when Jodi first had her chicken pox signs, I just thought they were very large mosquito bites from out there. It wasn't until the next day when I noticed pustules that I realized something might be up. lol

That's great! I just went to a birthday party there last Sunday and we had a great time. There were about 12 kids and we took them all on the path to the river. We brought a kiddie wagon and they all took turns getting on and off of that. There were turtles to see and a bunch of kayakers stopped to say hi by the Silver River. They had a great time at the playground too. I hope you have a great day!

The birthday party was yesterday and it was PERFECT. Everything went exactly as planned. The kids had a blast on the playground, the weather held out (even though I had a knot in my stomach for a week prior), and the grown-ups had a nice, shady place to sit and chat. I would definately recommend the Silver River State Park for any type of party! Thanks for all of your advice!
