Ok... How come no one told me how tired I would be after throwing my youngin' a party????????? I am dead on my feet!!!! But we had a blast on June 7th (even though Summer actually celebrated her 1st in Louisiana with her Grandma.. Yup, Summer was born on her Grandma's b-day!) Big Grin

Of course, it might have helped me somewhat if I had not had to drive almost 12 hours (We left at 4:30 am) from Louisiana to get back home just to turn around and clean house right after that long car trip. But at midnight on Friday night I finally was able to fall into bed (Little Bit had long since retired..lol). Then on Saturday morning back up by 9 am just to start shopping for food and picking up the cake by 10 am. Then I had to go to the Party Shop to get some balloons blown up, then after that was the Dollar Tree store for more mylar balloons ( I mean really those balloons are a dollar!). I managed to make it home a little after 12:30 and then I had to wrap a couple of presents
that my sister had left here and finally at about 1:15 pm I was able to shower before guests started arriving.

So at 2:00 pm the party started and we had a lot of fun. But to be honest with y'all I never ever wanna throw a party like that again! I want the next party to be more laid back and no long car trips the day before a a party! Wink

I totally understand. I did a party for my oldest son 2 birthdays ago and was decorating, renting tables & chairs, cooking and making 3 different cakes. There was a total of 70 people at my house for his party (football friends, school friends, friends and family). That was extremely tiresome - and then there was clean up duty. I love throwing birthday party's for my kids - but every year I say that I am not going to go all out like that again. But, it never happens.

My 6 year old had his b-day in Feb. I got lucky because it was just us and my mother. But, the oldest turns 11 in October - during football season.........

I hope that you got some much needed rest after the party was over. And, I REALLY hope that even though you were really tired it was a nice birthday party.

It was worth every ounce of energy that I put into that party. I know she may not remember it but the pictures will tell a different story when she's older.
