How do you celebrate your child's birthday? How about an anniversary? I'd love to hear party ideas or how you and hubby or SO celebrate your relationships. My best friend of 40 years - yes, that's right, 40 - came to town in October and we had a terrific time celebrating our friendship that started in kindergarten. We both love Halloween, and played off of that. We went to Felix's for our anniversary dinner and they had a small room decorated for us with eyeballs in drinks and spiderwebs on the walls. Dinner was wonderful, and then we hit the civic theatre for the Woman in Black which was very well done. We headed back to Sky for dessert (okay, it was the second dessert of the night but this was a special time!) and a drink and a lot of reminiscing. We ended the night with watching our favorite movie - Young Frankenstein. I gave him an album full of photos of us from when we were 4 and 5 to recent shots. We got out our old high school yearbooks and laughed and laughed and remembered crazy antics we pulled back then. Well, and some since then but who's keeping count! It was a wonderful night and very memorable. How about you - maybe you have a special night coming up with your sweetheart, or you want to share how you celebrated your child's last birthday in some unique way. This is the space to tell stories or to ask advice. I know there are a lot of creative moms in Ocala - let's hear about those celebrations in your lives!

Parties? Did someone say parties? I love parties and right now I am currently planning Summer's first birthday party and it's still 4 months off..lol! Call me crazy but it has to be just right. We're doing the Pooh theme but almost everything we have gotten so far says something on it about it being her first birthday. From the invites all the way down to the plates.

I love Halloween as well and I'm hoping that Summer will pick up that love that I have for Halloween (and if she doesn't oh well). I make a Halloween dinner complete with some kind of Halloween drink.. Last year I believe I made "Toxic Punch" and we had " Bat Wings" with "Swamp Dip". I know it sounds YUCKY but it was delish. One year I made some kind of manicotti that actually ended up looking like bones. So I love to throw a Halloween party.

Making the decision to have a child - it's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking outside your body.

I LOVE Halloween, too! It's my favorite holiday, believe it or not! I've always dressed up and my kids enjoy it when I dress with them each Halloween. Whenever there is a costume involved in a school project, my kids always get all of the points in that area! LOL

For their birthday parties when they were little, I would dress them to the theme. My oldest son's first birthday was a train theme and he had on a little conductor's outfit.
