So.... what are Scouts doing these days?
How has Scouting changed since you were in it? I know the price of cookies (and names) are definitely different now than when I was a Girl Scout. And boy do I miss going to Camp Mah-kaw-wee (the Citrus Council GS camp I went to w/ my troop and every summer.) I am a camp junkie. Elizabeth Mommy to Jodi (4/17/06) |

I am a girl scout leader in dunnellon and things have changed but the main mission of girl scout is the same. Both of my school aged duaghters are in scouts 1 is a JR and the other is a 2nd year Brownie. "most" schools have a girl scout troop or the office knows who they need to contact if you wish to join a troop or you can go to the local website to find a troop near you.
http://www.gswcf.org/ Adults can be scouts too I can't even explain the need for adults in the area to be leaders or Co leaders or just to help out the local troops with what ever you can offer. I know I have gained so much from my first year of being a Girl scout leader I think its so wonderful to watch your troop grow and earn their patches. |

I can't wait until mine is old enough to sign up!
I was going to volunteer to be a co-leader but with classes going on, I think I will be waiting until she signs up for Daisy. Elizabeth Mommy to Jodi (4/17/06) |
