I have a buyer for my house we have a tentative moving date and I know that the school my daughter is zoned for is Belleview Santos. Didnt particularly care for what i saw ane read on line, PLEASE does anyone have any feedback I have a very shy 9 year old and I need to make sure that this public school is going to be a friendly learning enviorment. I WOULD APPRICIATE ANY INFO from someone who has a child in Belleview Santos or resently did. I am getting worried
I have 2 girls ages 8/7 they have been @ Belleveiw Santos since Kidergarten, they are both A/B honor role and in a High Honors reading program..Which I think is great, the school cosmetically looks not so great, but it's old...The staff is great and they have a safe child pick up system/ parent visiting day's as well. I would def say she would be happy there once she got in and made some new friends, my oldest was the same way and now she's a social bug....Godd luck
Belleview-Santos was one of the schools I covered as a reporter, we were business partners w/ them, and I volunteered w/ a group of non-proficient readers. The school is physically ugly but like Flgirl said, the staff was excellent and they had some great programs. It's been a couple of years now, but BSE was one of my personal fav schools that I ever covered.
Thanks so much for the feed back that is what I was looking for, people who had kids in the school or had interaction with the school recently. I was a little dissapointed when I went on line because it did look so old, but like I said originally I want a school that is nuturing to the children that will build self esteem as well as give them the academic basis they need for middle school and beyond
I have lived in belleview for 7 years and have four children that have all went through BSE and one is still there. It is a wonderful school has great teachers and the principal is awesome! If you ever have a problem with anything Mr Sanford takes care of it right away. They have wonderful dedicated teachers and I wouldn't switch it for anything. Their extended day program is the best also!!
Thanks again, I come from a school that is great the teachers do not let things get out of hand, if there is an issue they will call you right away and their focus is truly the children. I volunteer on the pta here and am hoping for the same kind of envioroment down there. My daughter is shy and needs a nurturing envioroment to do her best. Am I correct in saying that the extended day program runs until about 6pm. doesnt that make it a really long day for the kids. ( I think I read somewhere that it is $35 per week is that correct?) thanks again for the infor and any additional will be greatly appriciated.
Yes, extended day runs until 6:00 but you can pick up your children anytime (they don't have to stay till 6:00). The cost is going up to either $38 or $39 a week, and it includes a snack.
My son doesn't attend BSE, but I've only heard really good things about the school. Good luck!
hopefully we wont need it at least at first , but our buyers just backed out of the deal so we are still looking for buyer, now we dont know when we will be moving again, dont think we will make if for the beginning of school
