For my family, the tradition has always been to wake up on Sat. morning and watch cartoons while Mom makes breakfast.
My son has watched "Word World" and "Little Bill" this morning What are your family's favorite Sat. morning cartoons? Erin OcalaMom.com Moderator Mom to Cooper and Elizabeth |

DD likes to watch SpongeBob Squarepants on Sat. morning . Of course, it helps that I love that cartoon as well otherwise I'd probably never let her watch it..lol.
But I know on Sunday (I think it's Sunday) when The Wiggles come on DD is glued to the tv for the entire half hour it's on. But I personally wish they would bring back the old favorites such as Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and all those kind of cartoons. And I especially love those old black and white cartoons.. Now that would be a real joy if someone would show those again! Making the decision to have a child - it's momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking outside your body. I know we, I, are a bit crunchy (moderately crunchy but still on the crunchy spectrum).... but we haven't done any kid TV yet. The only thing she watches is 'DI name, slideshow.' Translation: J-o-d-i is my name. I want to watch my birthday slideshow. (b/c it starts off w/ her name...) And that's only been since her birthday she watches this.
Deanna -- I think SpongeBob is almost a bigger hit w/ adults. My brother used to (or may still) LOVE that show. Of course, he'll probably try to hurt me if he knows I just shared that, lol. I just remember Fraggle Rock, Sesame Street, Mr. Rogers, and even the Smurfs when I was little. I saw at Best Buy once that there are a bunch of the older shoes from when we were little that are out on DVD now. Elizabeth Mommy to Jodi (4/17/06) |

Ah, such nostalgia!!!
The Muppet Show! I have a male friend that has started collecting The Muppet Show on DVD..Now mind you he's 28 years old too..lol.... I have got to get those for DD because I want her to see them. Oh and the Electric Company was a good one as well... Morgan Freeman with his afro was awesome back in the day. Making the decision to have a child - it's momentous. Geez -- how could I forget the Muppets?!
(and while we're on nostalgia -- this randomly made me think of getting my own Fischer Price record player as a kid and listening to all those old books and songs on record. I still have mine and the records at my mom's. Little Red Caboose and some airplane one, I remember....) Elizabeth Mommy to Jodi (4/17/06) |
