Found these on the calendar listings (there's a bunch of other stuff there but the 2nd and 3rd were July 4th.)

If I remember correctly they use to do it at the government complex i thought on the 4th before the fireworks....I could be wrong about this it has been so many years since I actually went to one!

Here are some local events this weekend: DOWNTOWN LIBERTY CELEBRATION: The city of Ocala will host a celebration of independence 6 to 9 p.m. July 3 on the downtown Ocala square. The event will include music from Norman Lee & the Boondock Saints, cookie decorating, hamburgers, hot dogs and free ice cream. GOD & COUNTRY DAY: Marion County's annual Independence Day celebration starts at noon July 4 at the Golden Ocala property off U.S. 27 and County Road 225-A. Event includes entertainment and food throughout the day and fireworks at night. www.ocalajaycees.com INDEPENDENCE DAY CONCERT: "American Idol" singers Robbie Carrico and Bo Bice will perform July 4 at Silver Springs, 5656 E. Silver Springs Blvd., Silver Springs.
