A lot of junk + not a lot of room + no $ = time to have a garage sale!
I have actually never had a garage sale and I think it's about time! I am a pretty organized person and would like to plan the whole "shabang" out before I dive in. What's the best, organized, way to go about having a garage sale? Somebody hold my hand through this process and tell me what to do! Erin OcalaMom.com Moderator Mom to Cooper and Elizabeth |

Just know that whatever time you put down as your start time in your ad, people will get there earlier.

So we're finally getting around to having our garage sale. I've been collecting for a month or so and we have to have it next month.
Any new thoughts/advice from anyone? Is one day enough or should we plan on 2? What about pricing? What's the simplist way to price/organize everything? How much change $ should I have on hand? Erin OcalaMom.com Moderator Mom to Cooper and Elizabeth |

First advice is to do it on a Saturday closest to the first weekend of the month, most people get their pay checks on the 1st and social security checks come in by the 3rd. Make a sign out of yellow poster board with large black letters, people need to read it while driving 30 mph. write on both sides of the poster. Put a clear address on the poster and the time. Example: Yard Sale, Today from 8 AM to 2 PM at.
Sort the items like childrens, women and mens clothes. put like things together toys with toys, sport items together, kitchen stuff together, etc. Have a lot of $1.00 and quarters. Use little colored dots for pricing, price things as you sort them. Don't sell anything that looks extremely worn. Furniture can be redone but clothes needs to be wearable. Hope these tips helped |

I have done two large garage sales. One was for my daughters gymnastics school to help raise money and the other I did for a therapeutic riding center. I have had some experience
