Ok, I've noticed that at many toddler/preschool aged birthday parties that the birthday boy/girl doesn't open his/her presents at the party, they usually wait until they get home to do so.

What is the etiquette for thank you cards? I know that sometimes I get them from kids' b-day parties that we've attended and sometimes I don't. It doesn't really bother me either way. I kind of feel like it's a waste of paper and stamps. What do you think? Is is considered "going green" if you don't?

Most of us moms know that the child is very thankful for the gift. Also, there's always at least one or two gifts that seem to lose their card and then you're left with guessing who it came from! What are your thoughts?

I think we should start a new "going green movement" and do away w/ thank you cards. I'm sure our Mothers, of a different generation, wouldn't approve, though.

We do thank yous but only mail to people OOT. Otherwise they get the cards when we see them next.

I think going green, IMO, would be more like digital thank yous. Smiler At least that's what I'd do.

I think I'm a bit old school w/r/t this, though.

How about recycled thank you notes Wink..personally I love email cards, but something we're gonna do is put a blank sticker on the back of a photo of our son (from his party) and write a message. It makes it appear like a postcard, then they'll have a photo. Its a little sketchy because his photo is enroute via postal service, but we did that for his birth announcements.

That's actually how we do thank you notes, Melinda.
I have extra pictures I order from photo sessions at the Picture People that are almost a 4x6 but postcards. A lot of our friends and family have those on display like real pictures. Smiler
